"My name is Violet and I was born into a world you may not understand."
Violet Song jat Shariff is the protagonist of Kurt Wimmer's 2006 movie Ultraviolet. The movie takes place in the year 2076, several years after the outbreak of an infections, blood borne disease known as Hemoglophagia. Those afflicted with Hemoglophagia are referred to as Hemophages, and most of them exhibit traits similar to those of the vampires of legend. Using the fear of the disease as an opportunity to seize power, a tyrannical, militant, medical organization known as the Arch-Ministry assumes control of the government and begins to systematically hunt down and kill Hemophages.
Prior to the events depicted in the movie, Violet was the wife of a respected doctor. While visiting her husband's clinic, a Hemophage broke in, looking for blood. The Arch-Ministry's troops stormed in shortly, gunning him down and splattering contaminated blood on Violet, thus infecting her. She was immediately quarantined, and her unborn baby aborted for medical experiments. Several years later she broke out, and joined the Hemophage resistance.
This write-up depicts Violet circa the middle of the movie - she was sent by the resistance to capture the Arch-Ministry's latest secret weapon. She succeeds, only to discover that the so-called weapon is a young boy, named Six. Unwilling to allow the resistance to kill him, she flees, chased by both the Arch-Ministry and her former comrades.

"Killing is what I do. It's what I'm good at. I am a titan. A monolith. Nothing can stop me."
Violet is described as being an emotionally dead killing machine, without fear and without remorse, hell-bent on extracting her revenge on the humans, and more specifically, the Arch-Ministry, that wronged her. As the movie progresses, her maternal instinct kicks in, and she exhibits genuine concern, and even compassion towards Six.

Violet is tall and slender, and has a perfect comic-book-female-heroine body. She wears skin-tight pants, a camisole and a short jacket over it, neither of which cover her midriff and completes the look with knee-high boots, gloves and occasionally sunglasses. All of her cloths are embedded with OLED fibers, allowing them to change color according to her mood. Every strand of her long hair, which she wears loose, is covered with the same substance, allowing her hair to change color in a similar fashion.

Despite the movie's premise that Hemophages are modern Vampires, the only unusual ability they exhibit, besides superhuman strength and speed, is the ability to see properly in pitch darkness, and even that ability is not common to all Hemophages.
Besides her speed and strength, Violet does not have any powers, and her abilities derive from her mastery of martial arts and several advanced gadgets she uses.
She wears a Dimensional Compression Bracelet on each wrist. The bracelet can store multiple items in a pocket dimension, allowing her to carry ridiculous amounts of guns, bullets and even swords while appearing unarmed to the naked eye. On her belt she wears a gravity leveling device, which can shift the direction of the gravitational field around her, allowing her to walk on walls on even on the ceiling.

  1. The term Gun Kata was coined in Kurt Wimmer's previous film, Equilibrium, and is not used in Ultraviolet. However, the martial art Violet uses in the movie remains unnamed throughout the film, and many of Wimmer's fans call it Gun Kata 2.0.
  2. The DCs associated with Gun Kata cannot increase the damage of weapons who's damage isn't based on Str, such as guns. Maybe this is worth a limitation, but I just decided to treat it as a ground rule, having the ineffectiveness of the added DCs balance out the fact that I'm allowing the usage of the Small Arms weapon group with this martial art.
  3. Masterful Dodging is built similarly to the talent Combat Luck, but without devoting any points to rED, since energy-based attacks are uncommon in Ultraviolet.
  4. Technically, all the multipower slots are supposed to have the same limitations, but the rules give the GM some leeway, so I decided to allow the gun slot to be bought with clips of 32 rounds and the sword slot to be bought with a 5 hour duration (both worth 8 increments down the charges table) as one advantage. The sword doesn't disappear after 5 hours, this only simulates the fact that Violet is never seen with it for a prolonged period of time. Note that this advantage is worth 2 instead of 2 since Violet needs to visit Garth's lab in order to restock her guns.
